When you post in one of those sections, please make sure to follow the specific rules which apply there on top of normal posting rules, and especially the following ones:
-Provide a link back to the original source.
-Please keep the same title as the original story. This makes it easier to identify previously posted stories.
-Retain the date on the original source. If the source is more than a day old, then it has probably been posted here already.
-Only post high-quality stories. Be discriminating in your selection!
-Unless it is well-written and truly witty, humor and personal opinion pieces should be posted to the forums.
-Scan the titles to make sure you're not posting a duplicate story
Respecting these rules helps maintaining the quality of fuckfrance.com. Not respecting them means your post will end up in Discussions or will be junked. The fine members who have “newshound status” should respect these rules even more scrupulously.
There has been in increase in duplicate posts recently (not referring to server incidents). That is so uncool, and boring for members and visitors alike. 28 Replies to Some reminders on posting in the News sections (France, USA, World) | re: Some reminders on posting in the News sections (France, USA, World) (karma: 4)

Good point. Can we shoot the people that don't follow the rules?

Is that high-quality ?
FIRULE, Croatia -- Nurses in a Croatian hospital have been ordered to go back to wearing skirts instead of trousers after complaints from patients.
Some nurses at the town hospital in Firule had been wearing trousers while on duty, but patients had complained they looked untidy and unprofessional; that led hospital director Dujomir Marasovic to send a memo informing all female staff of the skirts-only rule.
"We want to put everything in order here in the hospital," he told local reporters. "We want all nurses to wear the same clothes and we have imposed a rule which says they should wear skirts. The length of those skirts, be they mini skirts or otherwise, is up to the nurses."

This is a real nuissance. We're getting the same stories posted as much as 4 times - and they often come DAYS after the original was posted. | re: Some reminders on posting in the News sections (France, USA, World) (karma: 1)

Prescott, to prevent even more dupes, you should also remind what's French, US and World news, as it doesn't seem obvious for some bashers.
Actually, a reminder of what's a piece of news would not be useless either as we get a lot of opinion stuff in the News sections where they shouldn't be.
According to you, in what section should this be posted?
- Jacques Chirac injured in a jet-ski accident in Dominican Republic.
- Airbus wins a US Airforce multi-billion tanker deal
- France-USA: a more than 200 years old alliance
- From Miami, Jacques Chirac says he backs Turkey's entrance in the EU
- Rachid Ramda extradited from UK to France.
- France humiliates England 54-3 in Wembley and wins 6-Nations Grand-Slam.

As there have been quite a lot of submissions in inappropriate sections recently, I'm thankful for your question which I'll try to use as an illustration:
Jacques Chirac injured in a jet-ski accident in Dominican Republic.
Varies from Pub to Discussions to France, depending on the gravity of the accident. Flames if it is about the board member JacquesChirac.
Airbus wins a US Airforce multi-billion tanker deal
USA section.
France-USA: a more than 200 years old alliance
Discussions section.
From Miami, Jacques Chirac says he backs Turkey's entrance in the EU
World section.
Rachid Ramda extradited from UK to France
France or possibly World section.
France humiliates England 54-3 in Wembley and wins 6-Nations Grand-Slam
Fantasy section
Again, if your news is really news it will be published, provided it is not a duplicate, you keep the original title, you post a link to the original paper and choose the right section. Posts which do not respect these simple rules will either end up in Discussions (most of the time) or be junked.
Publishing is a manual process and can take anything from 15 minutes up to 10 hours. As a matter of courtesy, please do not spam the news sections and do not bugger mods with private messages informing them you posted something.
Checking if something has been posted previously in a News section is pretty straightforward: Go to the relevant section(s) and do a search on a keyword from your article title (Ctrl-F or Apple-F). The three news pages each contain the 100 latest respective article titles, so if your article has been published before you will find it, if not go for it. | re: Some reminders on posting in the News sections (France, USA, World) en>fr fr>en By DutchHateFrogs2 Comments: 11147, member since Thu Mar 24, 2005On Sat Nov 19, 2005 01:09 PM

A new suggestion:
If you submit an article to be posted and it doesn't get posted within what you feel is a sufficient amount of time- don't post it again | re: Some reminders on posting in the News sections (France, USA, World) (karma: 1)
