Again, if your news is really news it will be published, provided it is not a duplicate, you keep the original title, you post a link to the original paper and choose the right section. Posts which do not respect these simple rules will either end up in Discussions (most of the time) or be junked.
Publishing is a manual process and can take anything from 15 minutes up to 10 hours. As a matter of courtesy, please do not spam the news sections and do not bugger mods with private messages informing them you posted something.
Checking if something has been posted previously in a News section is pretty straightforward: Go to the relevant section(s) and do a search on a keyword from your article title (Ctrl-F or Apple-F). The three news pages each contain the 100 latest respective article titles, so if your article has been published before you will find it, if not go for it.
