Judging by the way you spell, I'm suprised you made it to 49.

No, you're in the DR because you either A. Got into some trouble being a Canadian "LAWER" or B. Just couldn't make a good living as another blood sucking lawyer.

No, we don't, but the business world does. Doesn't make much of a difference to you. You don't need much language to cut caña in Santo Domingo, then come home to beat your wife after drinking too many cervezas Presidente.

one.

"Is it true that Americans expect everyone to learn English?"

I thought you were the master pierre? Didn't you work along side some Americans in the DR...you know, the place you ran to in order to get away from your loser life in Canada?

Besides, I could give a flying fig what language you speak...but if you are going to live in the United States, then yes, Americans expect them to learn English!

Hatred is a waste of time. It s a good excuse not to look at your own defects.

The thing I like about this website is the top picture :). It s a joke. If we make jokes about other culture is one thing, bashing is another thing.

I honestly think that most of you are good people, no jokes, but it s a difficult world nowadays to channel our energy, to make this world better. And when we cant do that we attack others.

I wrote in my book : if you unhappy, bother other as much as you can. It won t make you happy but you won t be alone in hell.

It s sacastic way of saying how we destroy each other.

Good luck to all of you.

Farewell,

Pierre

Pierre,

Honestly dude, I'll say this is the most civil tone I can;

The United States DOES NOT TORTURE. Making someone stand naked for an hour is not the same as taking a power drill to the femur.

Big difference.

I understand your angst, even though your words sound too juvenile for a retired 49 year old lawyer.

But please, flame with facts, not fiction.

Thanks homie.

Why do you always answer by insults?

That's the only way you give to justify yourself?

Where exactly in this thread does he mention the President?

This is about as close as he comes to outright mention of the President and it's nearly his final post.

It s true that many Americans don t know how to think.

A stupid guy says we go war, and 70 % of the people are behind him not suspecting a fake or bad or incomplete report about WMD.

He is entitled to an opinion no matter how ridiculous or unsupported; it just makes him out to be biased and agenda driven.

But when he starts off the thread with unsupported allegations and outright libel, do you expect us to applaud him and grease our bungholes like a fraug would?

Lets condust a survey in Iraq. You are the best torturers. Saddam Hussein s soldiers or the American G.I.?

One of the first expected answer is : When you have it in the ass, nationality doesn t matter.

Don t forget, you are supposed to do it for democracy.

So long bastards,

Pierre

Comparing American servicemen to Saddam's Secret police service that ran the rape and murder racket for him and his sons is just a tad over the top with the drama queen act.

He opened the battle with a foul and should have expected it to deteriorate further after that.

Default Anything u know for rent in Puerto Plata
I have been living in Santiago for the last 4 months though I d like to get away from the dust

I m looking for a place to settle down for a longer term . I ve tried Rio San Juan, Cabrera and and really pretty Loma de Cabrera. What I m missing in those places is a good library the way I have it here in Centro Dominicano Americano in Santiago. I think Puerto Plata or close by could be a good choice. Do you know where I should start to find a room, studio or such. El Faro, the local diario does not have ad section.

Any advice

Peter

Hi,

I have a term deposit in pesos. I have acquired it in january 2006 when the rate was 24% for fixed 2 year term. They deposit 2% at the beginning of each month in my dominican bank account.

The rate has lowered since to 21% for 2 1/2 years term but that can go higher or lower any time.

Some Of This People Go To The Dominican To Sell The Country As A A Sexual Paradise Others Do Ilegal Things Like Prostitution Or Child Abuse. I Believe We As Dominican Should Be More Aware Of The Damaging This People Are Doing To The Country And Culture. We Do Not Want More Criminals From Overseas Coming To The Dominican. I Thing People Like Me Who Believes In Defending Our Country And Culture Should Get Together And Claim More Watch On Foreigners When They Move To Dominican.

I have seen that in many countries. When you dont want to look at your own weaknesses, blame it on someone else, namely in this case the foreigners.

Colombian embassy in Canada told me I can only get in Colombia with roundtrip ticket, how strange since I've since posted otherwise.

for your entries, I'm always wondering about those rigid rules created to sell more tickets. It doesn't make sense if one wants to visit 3 or 4 countries in an area.

Is it possible to change travelers c. at hotels or black market?

I've done that a lot at restaurents and hotels in Domonican republic with a little better rate than banks or casa de cambio.

Looking for a hot nest...don't get me wrong or so little.

Hi everyone,

I have had fun roaming around this website (I'm a newcomer).
I'm planning a first time longterm stay(up to a year)in the nortern part to investigate possible relocation.

Whereabout can I find cheaper monthly accomodation to cut on expense. Should I stay out of turistic cities or can I make it there anyway?

Is there any central office to seek volunteering opportunities or even jobs(2 years teaching English experience in China).

I'm fairly fluent in Spanish.

So long,

Peter

ABC for Canadians

Here is copy of what you bring in Colombia according to the Colombian consulate in Canada. Questions follow.

***Tourists are allowed to bring the following personal effects to Colombia, free of charges:
Maximum of 6 books, 6 magazines, 6 recorders, 6 paintings, 6 bottles of liquor, 2 photographic cameras, 2 electric appliances for personal use, 2 art or work related articles. The total value of the effects should not exceed US$1,000.
When declared as entered on a temporary basis, the following items are allowed as well without charge: laptop computer and video camera. These items are subject to inspection upon your departure.
Tourists are allowed to bring up to US$7,000 in cash or documents.***

Can I bring more than US7,000 and simply declare it on the form as heard before on previous posting? Do they enforce minor details like number of books?( My assortment of teaching books are easing my life :)

I have visited around 15 countries in Asia and Latin America but never saw so many details except for booze and smokes.
