Is legal action being taken against the criminal?
I don't know what Shon and other people who suffered personal and/or professional damage plan to do. All relevant data are available. Personally I would just let his Imam know that he's eating ham, and where his Renault 5 is parked.

how are we sure that he is this "scorpion" guy ? Can't it be someone else who disguises himself as a former member ?
It can. It could be any Algerian former member born on October 22, 1978, living in Rouen and posting from “Scorpion”'s computer.

What "Security Measures" were taken when a mod made my IP address public on this board?
Ah yes, I remember, none.
JLS already addressed your post, I'd just like to ask if you can ever stop whining? YOU have successfully demonstrated you hacking skills in the past, yet YOU had no shame in posting unfounded and unsupported accusations. On top of that you have the audacity to implicitly pretend that a sincere unfortunate mistake could be compared to the malicious and intentional invasion of other people's computers.

You have NO idea to what extent the owner and moderators of this board go to protect your privacy. Yes, YOURS too. You have NO idea about the problems and conflicts we have to solve to ensure that the privacy of even (especially?) whining self-righteous hypocrites is and remains sacred here. Or how hard it is to try and maintain equal standards regarding the likes of you on the one hand, and good, noble honest & brilliant members on the other hand. And never mind the sarcasm. [/rant]

Is it possible to disable new users from being able to post links, scanning links for potential malware and disabling them?
No. And not likely to happen. With the exception of the issue of privacy mentioned above and the other ToS rules, ff.com doesn't interfere with what links or other material members decide to post. You will not catch a virus or be infected reading and posting here, but you could be by following a link. Up to you to click or not. Members ARE responsible for what they do, what links they click on, and for the anti-viral, anti-troyan and general anti-malware software they use to protect themselves. That doesn't mean malicious links won't be removed, but privacy excepted, ff.com won't protect you or me from ourselves.
