On posting private messages (karma: 3)  en>fr fr>en

Posting a private message is frowned upon, but is not a violation of the Terms of Service (TOS) as long as no real name, home address, work address, phone numbers, etc. are revealed. That information shall forever remain private so that people are not harassed into silence.

People in the past have posted PM's, some as a parody, and we've had some good fun as a result. (CAP comes to mind, here.)

An analogue in the real world is publishing a snail-mailed letter or email you received. This happens all the time, and is an important element of journalism. I make it a point to publish FF emails, for example, in the Fan Mail section. Even when copyright is claimed on the original work, the "fair use" doctrine permits publication for academic, news reporting, criticism and parody.

p.s. BALM makes a good case for preserving privacy. However, while privacy is important, in this case, free speech trumps it (with the aforementioned caveat about not publishing personal identifying information).

Feel free to discuss...

Shon

People who DELIBERATELY break the rules should loose their Karma... will make them think twice before doing so again.

Assumptions are great aren't they? I don't work in a office, and you got what you deserved.

Exactly, and this is why Whizz's karma has to be restored, according to Shon:

Just a point I'd like to make.
I was banned for violating TOS, which I did.

I did pursue BALM through his threads,

Whizz wrote this sentence in an other thread and before Shon stated that this was not against the rules.

Now, feel free to start your own flame against the owner of this website if you think that his estimation of the TOS are wrong.

So what? How many people stalk others from thread to thread with no action ever taken against them? I have several stalkers myself but it would never cross my mind to be a sniveling cunt like BALM. He could do the same thing I do, ignore them. Of course BALM isn't smart enough to think of that.

DatedinFrance,

The majority of what, the 5 to 10 retards who pretend to know something other than donut flavours and nuclear bombardment is the answer to all.

Believe me when I say that Whizz or myself will survive your vaunted attack.

BTW would you still like to lick my feet or has the offer expired?

Great post from SHON !! (who is god btw ..)

Indeed BALM trying to pass PMs as highly precise and factual private info is just grotesque, exactly like he is himself.

The thing is SHON, now, it is obvious that little Balmy boy cannot remain a mod : he completely lost face even if he didn't even have one in the first place.

So you need to fire his ass soon and nominate someone else : I say either RockOff or Rev_al

Death to France, as I sense your awkwardness in establishing proper relationship and letting it all hang out, here's some advice.

You've seen those people who seem to be comfortable in any social situation. What's their secret?

Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Steps

One
Dress to kill. Wear something either very fashionable or very flashy (but tasteful), depending on your intent. Well-tailored clothes imply class; bold outfits are hard to forget. Go fora yellow shirt, blue trousers and red shoes.

Two
Make a grand entrance - carry a kazoo and announce your arrival. Better yet, provide your friends with kazoos and let them do it for you.

Three
Stand up straight and look people directly in the eye. Self-assurance is very attractive. If you have to fake it, then fake it. It gets easier the more you practice. People will believe that there must be some underlying reason for your self-confidence. Keep staring and hold contact no matter what, don't blink. Open your eyes wide. Full pupils drive women wild.
Smile and make eye contact with every person you speak with. Flirt a little. As the party progresses, flirt a lot. Don't end up alone in a room with someone, though. You wouldn't be sure what to do. Groping is an excellent idea. It drives women wild.

Four. Compliment each person you talk to and find out something interesting about them, such as their matching socks or hearing aids. People are most interested in themselves. Everyone has something intriguing about them - you just may have to dig a little to find it. Try to spot moles or speech impediment and joke about it with them. Speak to women about their large breasts. It drives them wild.

Five. Circulate!! Don't get trapped with the same people all evening. Break away abruptly within two minutes of meeting someone and move on. You can always come back. If someone starts addressing you, excuse yourself immediately and walk away.

Six. Be aware of current events and movies, and have a couple of tasteful, funny jokes on hand. If you have to read the news right before you leave, then do it. You'll be able to start a conversation and then learn more about the topic from the people you talk to. Talk about politics, money or religion.

Seven. Lurk by the food or doors. Great passageways.

Tips & Warnings
It may help to keep an index card handy at first while you practice this. Slip away and make notes to yourself if you have a bad memory for names. Repeat them to yourself quietly while moving your lips silently.

Don't drink so much you lose control. The life of the party isn't really the guy with the lampshade on his head.
Just kidding, drink up all you can and empty the bar. It drives the women wild.
