According to non-Hebrew sources dated to Ancient Eqypt and Mesopotamia, the Canaantes were a distinct people that inhabited the land of modern day Israel, the Palestinian Territories and Lebanon. Their existence is fact.

Whether its true or not, the fact remains that the Jews cannot condemn one genocide (the Holocaust), ignore others (the Holodomor), and praise a third (Canaanites) as "divine".

According to non-Hebrew sources a lot of them survived the conquest. Perhaps the authors of the Old Testament had purposly exagerrated the numbers of enemy killed because 3500 years ago it was regarded as a source of pride, not a war crime.
