I don't believe this story. How many times during the last few years have we not seen stories like this coming out of Washington, D.C., especially from the pen of Seymour Hersch?
All of these false alarms are being put out there by Leftists in the governments. They are trying to pre-empt this option by bringing political pressure to bear upon the Israeli and U.S. governments and their leadership.
And if Obonga wins, as I think he will, on November 4th? It most certainly does raise the possibility that a U.S.-Israel smack down of the Iranian weapons development sites will happen. Nothing is certain.
I can't imagine a loyal patriot in our governments leaking this information. What would be the point? You just don't give your enemies advance notice of your attacks. After all, the Israeli government did not give Syria advance notice that they would be attacking the nuclear plant deep inside that country last year.
Some of the above posts are truly asinine. You know the ones I'm talking about.

Unless, of course, you are allowing them a last chance before you plow their defenses under while raining pain from the sky.
We're still negotiating. If they're too stupid to realize we can bowl them over no matter how "prepared" they are for the assault, tough shit.
They can no more slow us down than Saddam could...and they know it. Except, of course, they actually believe Allah protects them. Saddam just paid that bullshit lip service.

When you get done beating your chest and going Kevin Garnett at the Iranians, could you explain where the troops are going to come from? How many wars do you think the US can sustain at one time?

Speaking of Morans, I just had this out with someone else the other day, I have been spelling it Moran for years now because since I first saw that pic on FF, with that dumbass American right winger calling people morans while misspelling the word is a classic right wing American reality on FF. Try and keep up Moran.
One day, many years from now you may gain a memory that accurately recalls things past the 1 day mark, until then there will be Canadians like me laughing and spitting on right wing feminists like you, looking down on you with moral superiority knowing full well that when it comes down to it, you are inherently weak and you will as always feel humiliated, insecure and bitterly angry to your end of days.

I highly doubt he will. He needs congress' approval, the left will eat him alive after leaving office they will try to get an ICJ arrest warrant. And you mark my words, Obonga might even try him for bombing his cousins. My guess is that Israel will do the job. They have to do it. They are in a better position than we are.

We don't need any ground troops to occupy idiot. At most small squads of special operations for limited targets idiot. Have you noticed that we're not using heavy bombers or really any airpower at all in Iraq anymore? We have the largest and most advanced airforce in the history of the world FULLY FREED UP to bomb the living shit out of the genocidal muzzie pigs in Iran. This "spread too thin" bullshit is just liberal wet dreams... the assets committed to Iraq and Afghanistan have nothing to do with attacking Iran from the air (idiot).

And you're a naive fool if you think the US is going to destroy Iran's nuclear capabilites by air power alone. In fact, the notion is beyond naive and stumbles headlong into abject stupidity. You're home!

Thank you for your deep concern over the well-being of our military. Since we know you liberals are the first to pick up a gun to fight for the cause of freedom worldwide have you ever considered sending more troops to Iraq or Afghanistan or perhaps even helping us bomb Iran yourselves?
This would in turn free up US resources to concentrate on Iran or help consolidate our victory in Afghanistan and Iraq. Or maybe even send some of our troops with multiple tours home to be with their wife and kids for a while.
Please petition your government to send more Canadian forces to the middle east and thanks once again for your deep concern over our military men and women.

Thanks, but you'll need to speak with a Canadian about that.

Then I suppose you and Iran should quit crying about this, as there are no plans to send US troops across the border.
If their reactors are safe from US aerial bombardment, then this is a non-issue then I guess
You’d have to be a TOTAL moron to believe that,.. but hey,… it’s you were talking about here

We do not need many troops to smash this Muzz regime into the present day. We have bases in every country surrounding iran. Many of those soldiers can be allocated to a new front on the "War on Terror" almost immediately. Do you really think we invaded Iraq for oil? Could it have been to put more troops into their backyard?
We have no plans on rebuilding iran as we did with their neighbors. Nevermind the fact that we have begun slowly pulling troops out of Iraq. If for some reason we did need more troops and didn't get enough young warriors enlist specifically to shit on the muzz We have a top secret enlistment plan (Codename: Draft) that can be implemented tommorrow. I think Iraq would also contribute to this effort if it takes some of the heat off of them.

I think this whole bit with Iran is a bit overblown. Look on a map. Iraq and Assghanistan both border Iran. Coincidence? I'm sure Bush (or an adviser) long ago realized that we are going to have it out with the camel jockeys one way or another. I'm sure the two fronts are part of a larger plan.
Iran can't do shit. The goatfucker munchkin king and his towelhead butt-pals realize they would be vaporized by the time the first missle crosses the Iranian border. Plus there are two large contingencies of ground forces, several carrier groups, and many other military assets in place should they get cute.
Now, if Obama gets elected and starts pulling all forces out of the area...then look for shit to really hit the fan.

You and that tin foil cap lunkhead. Those big bad right wingers are going to get you.
Stop making excuses for your ignorance. You are now trying to blame a right winger for your incompetence and illiteracy. Just embrace that your an uneducated high school drop out, I know all of us have acknowledged it.
Why have you not commented on the liberals in Canada now allowing sex changes operations? Money is incredibly tight in the provinces. The conservatives shelved the ability for a free sex change and your liberal party opened up the checkbook. We already knew that 99% of the lefties are effeminate pole smokers, this just confirms it.
Talking about pole smoking, when you getting your sex change lunkhead? We would also like to know if you got a free box of tampons with that new girly car of yours.

"An unnamed Israeli security official"
Great source!
Anybody who believes the US will attack Iran is living in a dream world.
The reality on the ground is different. The theoretically possible scenarios are as follows:
1) Israel and/or the US threaten to attack but don't. Oil prices rise sharply, and the Iranians and the other oil producing countries earn extra billions. The effect is to suck money out of the west and transfer it to real or potential enemies.
2) Israel attacks alone, without nukes and hence maybe not effectively enough (we all know how good the Israelis are, like in Lebanon 2 years ago). Oil prices rise even more sharply. Iran's nuclear industry might suffer, but the Iranians and the other oil producing countries earn even bigger billions. The oil price rise could plunge the entire west into recession.
2) Israel attacks alone, with nukes. Heavy retaliation against Israel, and frankly they deserve it. Muslims all over the world are outraged, UN sanctions, terrorism, Iraq (with a lot of Shiites) turns unstable again. Oil prices? Don't ask.
3) The USA attacks as per DEBKA, maybe using nukes. Heavy retaliation against US interests all over the world, not just by Muslims. Pro-US governments everywhere will fall, Iraq is lost, maybe with a lot of US casualties too. This could escalate into a really hot war, and the economic repercussions don't bear thinking about.
In short, not even Bush is stupid enough to contemplate this. It would be the ultimate disaster not only for the USA, and would land him and his advisors in prison. Bush will, on the contrary, pursue diplomacy (no doubt ineffectively) until the problem passes to his successor, and do all he can to stop Israel doing anything, let alone doing anything himself.
So enjoy your fantasies. They're just that.

Do that stupid ignorant and your car will drive a 10$ a gallon fuel, your inflation will go up to 10%, unemployement will reach 10% and your subprime problem will be like a moskito facing an helephant as compared to what you would face and 50% of your Airlines will desapear.
Remember, you have no nuclear plants and not enough fuel to survive. So shutup big imbecile.

Ahmm.. France is already paying close to $10 a gal for petrol. Your unemployment EXCEEDS 10% where as ours in less than half of that. As far as the fuel goes, we are sitting on more coal than any other country in the world.. PERIOD. Coal can easily be converted into petrol products. The USAF is currently running tests on this fuel product and has mandated that a significant supply be available for use going forward.
As far as nuke goes, we have some but not enough. We also have some of the best areas in the world for solar and wind, let alone nuke.
Back to Iran.. Dinnerjacket is just like a frenchman.. cannot be trusted, closet pole smoker, full of shit. This IS the same situation as Iraq, with the exception that most folks in Iran hate the current regime and wish for a change.
I am betting that the change thats needed for Iran will come from within. This is a very young populous that LOVES America as well as freedom. The Persians are a great people and I look forward to the day they regain their freedom.
We already know that france will not play a role in providing freedom from terriany or dictators.. your pussies and couldn't handle the challenge.

faqufrance,
I, too, have a high opinion of the Persians and the Kurds, especially the ones who are not Muslims. Many years ago during my undergraduate studies (my B.A. is in Economics, M.B.A. in Finance, M.A. Philosophy) I had an Iranian professor in two courses, one in economics (econometric modeling)and in introductory finance. He was a GREAT teacher and an even finer human being. And he's still teaching at the University of New Hampshire (Ahmed Etebari is his name). My room mate during my two last years, we lived off-campus in an apartment with two other guys, was an Iranian Shia and a funny and intelligent guy. My only problem with him was he was a devout Muslim and every night he had his goddamn short wave radio tuned into Khomeini's speeches. I think today, he has since gone on to get his PhD. in electrical engineering, he has dropped off the face of the earth and gone into Hizb'allah.
I too look forward to the day when Iran is liberated from the Islamofucks.
