Americans don't consider that being happy, in good health, with a real family life and free time to enjoy it should be a goal in life.

Americans consider that they reached their goal in life as soon as they can offer a brighter SUV than their neighboor... that's all!

And yet every poll or survey consistently indicates Americans are happier than Yurps. Go figure. :D

Americans are indeed generally happier than Europeans: thanks to cheap food and cheap petrol to fuel their junky monster cars, they're fat and happy. They're also generally ignorant, partly because their media is so crappy and superficial, and partly because they mistrust anybody who's smart and reflects about things (rather than reaching for a gun). That's why a doofus like Bush could become PotUS (as if being a "nice guy to have a beer with" is some kind of qualification!) and why Obama will never be. The average American doesn't like to be ruled by somebody who's very obviously less stupid and narrow-minded than he is.

They know either nothing about other countries, or they look at them through the lens of their own narrow fears and prejudices - their basic criticism of non-Americans is that the latter simply don't act and think and talk like Americans, and don't adore and admire the USA.

Those Americans who aren't happy (the marginally less ignorant ones) are consumed by paranoia about swarthy men in beards or inscrutable Orientals or slab-faced Russki "commies", and America as a whole is scared so shitless that it spends nearly as much on its military as the rest of the world put together (and as a result it feels it has to have an enormous and expensive military sledgehammer that's largely useless for the kind of pinprick threats it's facing).

Since Americans never have long holidays, they don't miss them, and so they work harder for The Man for less money - and believe that makes them somehow superior to other people who have more spare time and ger more money per hour. Suckers! They're so indoctrinated from childhood (by oaths of allegiance at school(!), dodgy history books, hands on hearts when the anthem is played, and spoon-feeding with Disneyfied propaganda about how wonderful and blessed by God the USA is etc.) with the idea of American moral superiority that they can't conceive any non-Americans would dislike or mistrust them. They also can't bring themselves to believe that other countries might do things better than they do - the very idea is unAmerican, as are self-criticism, seeing the other guy's viewpoint, moderation, good manners, admitting one might be wrong.

There are of course scores of millions of people who love and admire America and its people, but few of them live outside the USA…

That's why you get threads like this one - bragging is all part of being American.

Better enjoying life because of living happily with my family than just because I have a more expensive car than my neighbour.

Stupidity an Hapiness can go together. No problem.

One would be hard pressed to find a more topical example of Yurp ignorance about America as well as a massive case of Transatlantic Penis Envy which Yurps so often suffer from than the 2 posts above.

Americans are happier than Yurps because they have more land, bigger homes, bigger and better cars, more money and live in a country that is the wealthiest and most powerful on earth. How did it get that way? One of the big factors has always been that Americans-unlike Yurps-are optimistic by nature. They therefore plan for the future and are willing to invest and take risks. Yurps are pessimists who take the narrow minded view that anybody who is actually happy or even GASP! optimistic must somehow therefore be "less sophisticated" if not downright stupid. Why any intelligent and educated person realizes the world is shit and everything is only going to get even shittier.....right? For Yurpland I suppose this is true but that doesn't make it so for the whole world.

Then Yurps wonder how it could be that they are lagging behind America so badly. Some people never learn.

You could try spending some time in the states in order to start to get a clue what the fuck you're talking about. Its obvious you've never lived in America. I bet you haven't even bothered to see Disneyworld....just swallowed the bullshit your Leftist media feeds you hook, line and sinker.
