Mea culpa. Time for a clarification and a reversal of sorts.

We're all about free speech here (if you haven't noticed). You can pretty much spout whatever's on your sick and twisted mind as long as it's not illegal or invades someone's privacy. It's the privacy part that some people refuse to abide to, and they try to use it as a fucking ten-ton hammer to silence their critics.

No more.

Let's be perfectly clear now:

DO NOT POST PHOTOS OR PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT A MEMBER HERE UNLESS THEY POST IT PUBLICLY IN OUR FORUMS FIRST.

That's it. If you do post a member's personal information, YOUR ONLY DEFENSE AGAINST A BANNING IS TO SHOW THAT EXACT SAME PHOTO OR INFORMATION POSTED BY THAT MEMBER ON FUCKFRANCE.COM PRIOR.

This means if you find out someone's real name or work place or facebook/myspace page, you don't have the right to post it here or link to it. Even if it's public information and everybody at FF knows already. Unless the member posts it here, they have a shield against you disclosing it here. You can do whatever you want with the information, just don't post or link to it here.

Even if they send via private message or email the names and photos of themselves, their spouse, their workplace, their children, etc. you cannot post that publicly on FF unless they post it to the public FF forums first.

With that said, if you posted your photo or personal information here, tough shit. People are free to photoshop you and your ugly car till kingdom come. Don't be stupid and post things on FF that you wouldn't want your worst enemies to find out and use against you. That's why we offer nicknames instead of requiring legal names here. You have to be an adult to be here, and we'll treat you as an adult: you're responsible for what you do at FF.

Mods, I invite you to free all banned members who may have violated the privacy rules prior since they were murky.

Everybody now has a three strikes rule:

First infraction: your account is banned for a week
Second: banned for month
Third: banned for a year

Mods, please state for the record in their banning message which strike they're on, so there's no misunderstanding.

You can only appeal to me and I will only consider an unbanning/reprieve if you show me the link where the member posted this information here him/herself.

(All previous offenders start with a clean slate.)

NOTE: there are some images on the FF server that should have been deleted ages ago, but due to a quirk/bug, the server kept them around. Including one that has been reposted in this very thread. The mods and I will be removing these "orphaned" image files.

You cannot use these orphaned images as a "shield" since we will be removing them shortly. Like by the end of next week. Make sure there is a real thread that still has the image or photo intact before you consider it publicly posted by that person.

This doesn't really change the rules I posted. Just as we are giving cretins a chance at redemption, we must extend this courtesy to honorable people who have been trying to extinguish their FF mistakes for several years now.
