Going past a truck stop in Cottondale, Alabama recently to pick up a couple of old gas pumps, saw this Pumpkin Driver (Schneider) out in his thong.Soon as we passed, a cop drove up.Didn't hang around because in the south this is how gay shit like Deliverance started.

some do some dont, depends on your personal preference
good call though, if he is a team then he's a puke. if not by law he has to sit there. who knows, i dont. teams make about 52 cents per mile split on all miles the truck runs but legally it never has to stop. a solo driver makes between 32 or 42 cents per mile depending on experience and his qualifications ie (hazmat, tanker blah blah blah)but sometimes you just sit for days without loads. by the way most if not all long haul truckers are non union

From what I heard at Schneider they hire singles only for local and regional runs. Most their long haulers are teams.

Most truckers are cool.You always get that idiot who throws out his piss bottle at the shippers,a truck stop,rest stop,along side the road or some parking lot and ruins it for the others.My brothers an owner operator for Crete.Half my family are truckers.Got to be one of the hardest most thankless job out there.

most companies do this now, but like any other business you have personalities
you have those that look forward to living in a truck and those who dont. some like their families some would rather be away from them. whatever your choice the law is no more than 11 hrs of driving time per day and no more than 14 hours combined driving and work before taking a 10 hr break. also never more than 70 hrs in an 8 day period, unless of course you are good at faking logs, which i happen to be very good at

My brother first drove for swift (sure wish I finished training) as a team. You are right about Swift,Cap. He hated it. I couldn't do that team crap.Than he went to Star for a few years and they kept giving him those night runs to Wal-marts,Home Depots, and Lowes in Minni-St. Paul so he wasnt getting any miles, but he was home almost every weekend.He went to the desert for a few years made some $ and came back and bought his own tractor.Of course being an owner-operator theres no forced dispatch, that is he can refuse loads till he gets what he wants.
