Now it's an a310 sunk 1,800 miles south of Yemen, off the east coast of Africa. At least they're all geared up to collect the pieces.
A Yemeni airliner with 150 people aboard has crashed in the Indian Ocean off the island nation of Comoros, an aviation official in Yemen's capital said Tuesday.
An Airbus 310 like the one pictured has crashed while on the way to the capital of Comoros.
The aircraft, from the national airline Yemenia, was en route to Comoros when it crashed about an hour from its destination, an airline official said. There was no immediate news of the fate of those on board.
The Airbus A310 was en route from Yemen's capital Sanaa to Moroni, the capital of Comoros, and most of the passengers were Comoran, an official at Sanaa's international airport said. Moroni is about 2,900 kilometers (1,800 miles) south of Yemen, off the east coast of Africa.
"We don't know if there are any survivors among the 150 people on the plane," Comoros Vice President Idi Nadhoim told Reuters. 57 Replies to ANOTHER Airburst has gone down in flames. This isn't funny anymore. |

This came out on twitter over three hours ago. I was curious how long it would take the MSM to pick up on it.
Some of these twitter feeds are amazingly quick off the mark. |

It's pretty clear that Airbus products are not safe to fly. The entire fleet needs to be grounded until thie cause of the problem can be found. |

Yes, ground the entire fleet.
I just wouldn't feel safe in an Airbus travelling at 500 watts at an altitude of 40,000 litres. |

This is more than enough. Ground them until they are fully vetted, if ever. There's something terribly wrong with the Airbus. And you're right, it's not funny anymore. Once people start dying the funny goes out of everything. It took a great deal of corruption, ego, and grease to put something so defective in the air.
I don't want to see anymore posts justifying the Airbus flying passengers. Everyone should demand explanations and jail sentences. |

Nope ... I think they should wait a couple of more weeks. We could lose 4 or 5 more by then. With as many Camel Fuckers that fly these things ... we might stand a chance getting a couple of Al Quida big wigs.

Yemenia, which is 51 percent owned by the Yemeni government and 49 percent owned by the Saudi Arabian government, flies to Moroni, according to flight schedules on its Web site. Yemenia's fleet includes two Airbus 330-200s, four Airbus 310-300s and four Boeing 737-800s..
Unfortunately for Yemenia, their four Boeing 737-800s remain airworthy but they're now short one Airbus 310. Better start checking those tail sections before you send any more Muzzies off to meet Allah. There seems to be a problem when these tubs fly over water..

"Most of the passengers are French or from the Comoros,'' the official said, adding rescue boats had been sent to the scene of the crash to hunt for possible survivors.
The flight, Yemenia Flight 626, started at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport on Monday when an Airbus A330-200 aircraft flew to the southern French city of Marseille and then on to Sanaa in Yemen.
At Sanaa, passengers changed to an Airbus 310 and departed for Moroni via Djibouti.
Moroni is about 2900 kilometres south of Yemen, off the east coast of Africa.
"Comoros Islands authorities have advised our embassy in Port Louis that most of the passengers are from the Comoros Islands and France,'' she said in a statement.
Plane 'vanished from radar screens'
The aircraft - which was due to have landed in the capital of the Indian Ocean archipelago about 9am today - vanished from radar screens, a Moroni airport source told Agence France-Presse.
A United Nations official at the Moroni airport, who declined to be named, said the control tower had received notification the plane was coming into land, and then lost contact with it.
A crisis task force was set up at Charles de Gaulle airport today.
Ibrahim Kassim, a representative from regional air security body ASECNA, said the plane had probably come down five to 10 kilometres from the coast, and civilian and military boats had been mobilised to start searching.
"We think the crash is somewhere along its landing approach," Kassim told Reuters. "The weather is really not very favourable. The sea is very rough."
"We still do not have information about the reason behind the crash or survivors," Mohammad al-Sumairi, deputy general manager for Yemenia operations told Reuters.
A Comoran police source told Reuters: "We really have no sea rescue capabilities."
French military planes took off from the Indian Ocean islands of Mayotte and Reunion to search for the aircraft.
"Two French military aircraft have left from the island of Mayotte and Reunion to search the identified zone, and a French vessel has left Mayotte," Hadji Madi Ali, director general of Moroni International Airport, said.
