The European Union’s Transport Commissioner is to propose a global blacklist of airlines following the Comoros crash. Antonio Tajani said it would be along similar lines to the list which currently operates in the EU.

Yemenia Airways is due to be interviewed by the European Union’s safety committee. The airline is not banned by the EU but France subjects its planes to more rigorous checks than others.

The jet that crashed was built in 1990, and had been used by Yemenia since 1999.

What is Airbus batting for June? 4 for 378? Four major incidents and 378 fatalities. That's a DPI (deaths per incident) of just 94.5. I'm sure they can improve that stat with the A380.

I like Airbus, but I do have to admit they keep me busy with all the new French arrivals
