We have paid you back ten fold. It is you who should thank us. And on this note we insist that you take back New Orleans, and Detroit. We want a refund plus interest.

We have also "helped" you celebrate your Independence day on more than one occasion.

This one was the most recent.

We brought our own guns and ammo
We brought our own fireworks
We brought you freedom(yours had run out)
You shared your mothers, sisters, grannies, aunts, and cousins with us.

We'll skip the party next time.
Your food was okay
But we have had enough "whine" to last a lifetime.

The difference with Lafayette, is he did go in war for your independence with his own money, means and men. For YOUR INDEPENDENCE. Not for a political agenda. The US didn't land in Normandie to free France, but to win a world war. I am thankful to these men who stormed the French beaches and all those who fellowed.

I do believe if we remember this battle with emotion, it is only because of tactical errors that led to this bloodshed.

We don't remember Lafayette and his men for the same thing. Not because they died en masse. But because they went into a war for their beliefs rather for some national interests.

Thanks for the laugh French bedouin clowns with no proper historical perspective, Great Britain and France were the best of friends way back then just like now and the Royal French government had absolutely no axe to grind with their neighbor across the channel, by using a third party conflict to bloody their nose.

Lafayette had only 19 years old when he decided to join the "insurgents". He received no Royal order. Louis XVI wanted to keep peace with the British at that time. All these soldiers voluntereed to fight for the independence of your country.

LOL. The delusional French.

You only gave us a little help we didn't need, and you gave it strictly for your own self interests (2 can play this game).

Thanks for the statue, though.

We had a great 4th. Barbecue, and the neighbors hired a band.

Afterwards, another band and bonfires and fireworks on the beach.

Lots of family and long lost friends and some new ones.

Great weather after a month of cold rain.

Buurrrpp.

Fuck France

But we know Lafayette and Rochambeau in these parts. Good men.

The Ancien Regime.... all gone.

Thanks for showing up at the last minute in a cheap theatrical move designed to further your own selfish interests and to claim credit for our victory. Who'd a thunk you'd have the gall to show up in Tokyo Bay to take credit for that victory too.

Now you are trying to give all of france credit for the efforts of an individual. Fuck off, liar. France only became involved in the revolution out of self-interest. Now you try to claim glory from the birth of such a great nation. Truly it is the greatest thing france has ever been associated with.

God Bless America!

"Relations will be further rent by a second poll, in Le Monde, showing that only a third of the French felt that they were on the same side as the Americans and British, and that another third desired outright Iraqi victory over “les anglo-saxons”.
Timesonline

French collabos degenerates 200 years after!LOL, and they think they are like Lafayette...

popfrost. Even if you don't like french, you should read what was the franco-american alliance.

The independence of usa has been recognized officially by brits and the world in the treaty of Versailles(1783). We still have a copy of the treaty obviously.

It doesn't remove the qualities of your founding fathers and colonists who struggled bravely.
