The thread tells me more about the obvious premise to foment racism and ill feelings towards minorities Nazi style by the poster and the email than any real scene in the Atlanta Airport. The Atlanta and Dallas Airports are major hubs for receiving soldiers on leave. When military personnel finish going through customs, they ride the long escalator up a level taking them from the international area to the the domestic flight area. The first thing military personnel see at the top of the escalator is a thick wall of greeters from the USO, Veterans Groups, and other patriotic volunteer organizations. The greeters shake hands, distribute gift bags, and they direct military personnel to the USO, where there is free food, drinks, and wifi conneotion. The greeters were in direct proportion to the US population; most of them were white, but there were a few minorities. Once military personnel pass the formation of greeters and they turn to the left, they encounter the usual hubbub of any busy transit center. In the throng of commuters occasionally a traveler would say a kind word for the service of military personnel. They were again in the proper proportion to the population of the USA with most being white and just a few minority voices. Another thing to remember is that Atlanta is a major international transfer point, so a lot of dark faces belong to foreigners and they are obviously standoffish with soldiers, logically so since in their countries soldiers are oppressors of freedoms instead of defenders of them like in mine. Ulike a hearsay version of events at the Atlanta Airport, I present a firsthand factual account, because I have been there and I have walked the line. I can say for certain there were black and other minority USO workers and grateful average citizen types of color along with fellow caucasian citizens. This makes sense even along racial lines, if not patriotic sentiment alone, since the US military has long been touted as the most integrated segment of US society. Were there any Jews among the USO workers and grateful citizenry? That I cannot say for certain, since they are not easily recognized by skin color. They also fall into three camps: The greatest per cent being anti-American through their association with liberal causes; the next greatest per cent being pro-Israel, where they put Israel's interests far above the USA; and the smallest per cent and least vocal patriotic segment, the ones throughly enculturated to put the American interests above all others to the extent of even serving in the US military.

I don't know why you come up with the Jews - I would have to read up on Jewish contributions and participation in the US military, but I do know about the German Jews: They served their nation exceptionally well, receiving more medals for bravery in the face of the enemy than both protestants and catholics in WWI.

I would be inclined to think that it is similar in the US, and the Jews make for exceptional soldiers there, too.
