14-year-old burglary suspect shot dead in break-in

DALLAS (AP) — A 14-year-old boy is dead and two other teen suspects are in custody after a break-in at a house in a blue-collar neighborhood of southeast Dallas.
A Dallas police statement says Luis Avila was shot dead about 11 a.m. Monday when he broke into a house in a quiet, wooded neighborhood in the Pleasant Grove section of Dallas.
Two other boys, ages 13 and 14, fled on foot but were quickly rounded up by police. Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell says they will be charged with burglary, but their identities are being withheld because of their ages.
Mitchell says no charges have been filed against the homeowner, but the case will be referred to a grand jury.

Tex I demand that the home owner go to jail unless he is black then that would be just fine to leave him at home but if any thing else he needs to sweat it out under hot lights and have his rights violated. |

pleasant grove's always been tough--i used to live in a "courtyard motel" where bonnie and clyde were known to hide out
the past 30 odd years have seen the grove become a no man's land of...shall we say "darker repute" and illegal homesteading
i drive around sometimes remembering the old days and rejoicing that i don't have to be there anymore |
