Two Afghan teenagers were killed and six others - including 3 children - were injured when a roadside bomb went off near Garmser, a small village in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

The residents of the town seized the bomber and tried to hang him; police and the local district governor had to intervene to save the suspected Taliban's life. However, they were too late to save his ears, which had already been sliced off by the furious villagers.

One of the village residents, Mullah Mansoor, was unrepentant:

"This is a warning for those who kill our people every day, we won't tolerate their actions any more."

Crude and cheaply made roadside bombs are the Taliban's favored weapon against Afghan and NATO forces, but they often miss their targets and hit civilians instead.
