Self-defense method "too violent" for the UK

Author and businessman Tim Larkin, who created and teaches a new and violent form of self-defense martial art, has been banned from entering the UK. Mr. Larkin was scheduled to conduct a self-defense seminar in Britain, but was handed a letter from the UK Border Agency informing him that, "your presence here is not conducive to the public good." The UK Home Office confirmed that he is subject to a "by name" Exclusion Order.

Larkin, creator of Target Focus Training, claims that he is being singled out because he criticized the UK's self-defense laws.

"I am not advocating that the UK should be like the US. What am advocating is that the UK should go back to laws it had, prior to 1920."

For its part, the UK Home Office maintains that Mr. Larkin teaches a particularly violent form of self-defense, intended to "maim and kill in self-defense," and that a 2009 visit to Slough, Berkshire, provoked widespread condemnation in the community.

Larkin disagrees, saying that he was invited to be the keynote speaker at the Martial Arts Show conference in Birmingham and to teach a seminar in Tottenham. Both areas were especially hit hard by rioters last August.

"This is not being a vigilante. You are sitting in your house and you're being attacked, or you're attacked out in the street... There's an awful lot of martial arts and self-defense being taught right now that gives no instruction on [how to hurt] the human body.

Larkin's self-defense techniques involves simple, repetitive & intuitive movements that cause crippling pain & injury to easily damaged body parts. His philosophy is that scientifically applied counter-violence is the only defense against a violent attacker, and that the goal of self-defense is to disable an attacker before he can harm you.

"...The problem is that we have told ourselves that by outlawing violence we don't have to deal with it and it will go away. All we've done is made ourselves much more pliable victims for the asocial predators of the world."

Mr. Larkin also claims that his training leads people to become LESS violent.

"The more you know about lethal applications to the body, the less violent you are. You don't go out seeking it.

Oh, Britain, what's happened to you? Moslems can blatantly disregard UK law and allow Sharia law in your suburbs, but you can't learn how to defend yourself? Even though there are an estimated 3000 "Honor Killings" committed in the UK every year?

The british are such losers.. they import men that have been known to gang rape their daughters and even chop them up.. .but "dangerous" hand to hand combat is banned.

Talk about the world's greatest Darwin award achievement.

Hard to beleive this is the same country that conquered half the world.

One of my favorite Monty Python Mad Dogs and Englishmen stock pictures of when the finally put down the Sepoy Mutiny that tied to dots to cannons and fired them into the Bay of Bengal.

A warning to what PC thought will do to a country even as once proud as Britain.

I guess the flower of the manhood really was spend in WWI and II. Only the pussies remain :(

He's obsolete, anyway. The Brits need only to import certain Jewish martial arts reruns of which the Germans prohibited in the 30s
