My favorite joke is to post a pic of a bottle of Whiskey and the motto : "Booze, the fuel of the future". And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, the joke becomes a reality ?

Three sheets to the wind? Air Force trials new plane fuel made of ALCOHOL

The U.S. Air Force has tested a new type of fuel - one based almost entirely on alcohol.

The A-10C Thunderbolt II flew from Eglin Air Force Base, in Florida, on a fuel blend known as Alcohol to Jet, or ATJ, as part of the airforce's bid to move its fleet onto non-petroleum-based fuel.

While the first image this brings to mind is a pilot pouring a beer can into a tank, the fuel is actually created from any cell-based material such as wood, paper or grass.

The sugar extracted from these materials is then fermented into alcohol, which is then processed into an aviation-grade kerosene used for aviation fuel.

Jeff Braun, spokesman for the alternative fuel certification division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, said: 'It flew like a usual A-10 would without any issues.'

Image hotlink - 'http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/07/16/article-0-0018DB6C00000258-586_634x478.jpg'

The Air Force has now tested three alternative-based fuels, including a 'synthetic paraffinic kerosene', which is derived from coal and natural gas, and and a bio-mass fuel which comes from from plant-oils and animal fats, known as 'hydroprocessed renewable jet'.

Capt. Joseph Rojas, A-10 test engineer, said: 'The A-10 is an excellent platform for testing the new fuel due in part to its segregated fuel system.

'The system allows one engine to run off a fuel supply that is completely segregated from the other engine.

'This allows us to fly with one engine on the new fuel and the other on traditional fuel. If engine operation is normal, as with the ATJ blend, then we progress to flying with both engines on the new fuel.'

The service has certified the blend for operational use on the aircraft, and is now planning to conduct a formal coordination for certification as an approved fuel agent.

That's news !

Imagine a world without gas stations, where all it needs is a pit stop at the local Bar for refueling your car ?

Imagine a world where France (LMAO) becomes a superpower (LOL) as it can turn all of the cheap wine it produces by the truckload to the next fuel bonanza and Saudia goes bankrupt ?

A world where Gallon bottles are fashionable again.

Such a world could become a reality tomorrow.

A world where A.A. meetings would now become open to cars !

Moron, alcohol as been used as fuels for ages. Brazil produces over 18 billion litres per year.

Otto, one of the inventors of the internal combustion engine was using alcohol as fuel back in the 19th century.

watcha equating kerosene and whisky proves watcha thinks kerosene is a drinkable spirit.

Which tends to account for his state of mental health.

Such a world could become a reality tomorrow indeed.

Imagine cutting all subsidies to lazy unproductive leeches. No free food, no free lodging, no monies to access the net and write shit on the hand that feeds them.

The French government could double its military budget overnight. Ungrateful paupers can't be allowed to drag France down out of its superpower status.

Quite a few bottles of good wine don't come cheap.

In fact, many French wine estates produce bottles which are are each worth more than one month of RSA welfare to a lazy white porch monkey.

These bottles are expensive because they are quality products which fulfill a mission. While white RSA porch monkeys don't.

And this is exactly what the french voted against.

Instead, they opted for more hand-out and more socialism.

They have nothingin common.

Jameson is supermarket-quality Irish stuff produced by Pernod-Ricard.

Talisker is Single malt from Isle of Skye.

It's like saying you like both Justin Bieber and Pink Floyd circa 1973.

You can afford a decent malt for the price of a headlamp change on your Dissie. Let the Voodoo Queen carjack it for good and cash out your insurance or leave it parked in some choice neighborhood in Paris or Strasbourg on New Year's Eve and likewise cash out
