Israelis flocking to border to watch Syrians fight each other
The newest, hottest Israeli tourist excursion is, shall we say, a little unusual, nu?
Dozens of Israelis (and foreigners) are flocking to the Golan Heights, carrying binoculars and cameras. What's the attraction?
The Syrian Civil War!
A steadily increasing stream of visitors are manning vantage points along the Israel-Syrian border in hopes of catching a glimpse of the fighting in Syria. Most are disappointed, having to satisfy themselves with listening to exchanges of gunfire and explosion, but enough incidents occur to keep the hopeful coming back.
Tour groups are now beginning to include the "Syrian War Watch" on their itineraries.
The IDF & Border Police say the are doing their best to keep sightseers from sensitive posts & installations along the border.
