It's not a difficult bet.

EU countries medals total places the European Union at the top of the medal table of every single Olympic Game, summer and winter, since Baron Pierre de Coubertin woke them up in 1896 and 1924.

This is only an adecdotal symbol of what the Europeans can do when they are united.

Let's see for Athens, day by day.

Roll On Europe!

I love how eurofags claim to be so proud of their cultural independsnce and their separate identities from other eurofag countries, but they love to pretend that they are one big happy family just so they can show off in front of the rest of the world. I wonder if the EU measures up to America (when you add up every north&south american countries).

OOoohhh....very cool idea.

How about we stack up the rest of the world's mefals against the U.S.'s. Now that will prove something!

And do you include Wasraw pact nations in your little scheme? (During the Soviet era, that is.) If so, you shouldn't.

How about Turkey, they shouldn't be included. Britian is iffy, too.

You're really grasping here, Atlantic.

Atlantic, why is it that the US doesn't count all the South American countries' medals as its own, while Frogs are so quick to brag about the EU total?

Well, it's just a little game to get you prepared as you don't seem to be able to see trends.

Within the next 20 years, it's not only in sport that the EU will be above the US.

It's not only in sport either that our main competitors will be from Asia and not North America anymore.

You'd better start to deal with it! :D

This is really sad. The shithole of a country you call France can't win a medal so now you cheer a country (EU) that is not a country at all. It's very sad but funny.

Asslantic, how about you try a sport called "stop avoiding the question and actually answer it." I know they dont play it in france, but you should give it a shot. it would be a refreshing change.

Fuck france.

If America is on the way to make its economical and political unity, I have not been informed... :O

But well, you can open another thread for that, I don't think it will change the result much, but that can make the fight more interesting, go with it!

Don't forget to post the flag of that pan American entity I'm not aware of.
Must be nice! :D

Europe hasn't been a competitor, economically, scientifically, athletically, any fucking way, of the US since 1945. I agree the future is Pacific. Too bad you're Atlantic. It sucks to be you.

having a flag doesnt make you a country. Also, political unification is quite a stretch when referring to the EU and you know it.

Fuck france.

It won't be France. Unless, of course, body odor became an Olympic event.

One minutes we're out, the next we're in.

AAF I hope you are watching because Atlantic is saying Britain is firmly in the EU. It's his posting not mine.

Care to spout any diarrhoea on this?

Please forgive my foolish ignorance Atlantic. Please embarass me and tell me which awards ceremony played the EU anthem and raised the EU flag in the Gold Medal position above Silver and Bronze. I watched, didn't see it. Who got the medals for the EU?

Fuck france and stupid frogs.

BTW Atalntic, keep in mind that since there are 25 members of the EU and you get (at least in thoery) to submit 25 participants to each event where we only get to submit one.

So the EU can win all three medals in an event where the most the U.S. can win is one. (And yet we still give you a fierce run for your money. LOL)

I demand that the IOC only allow one team from the unified EU and then we can talk, mkay. Thankyouandgoodnight.

ApplePie:

- 1st, your ranking is not correct.
This is not how you make medal tables.
You have to take Gold medals total into consideration, then silver, then Bronze.

You don't rank countries by total medals.
Imagine a country at top 1 which would never have had one single Olympic Champion?

- Secondly, yes the UK is fully in the EU, some crazy Brit members here think it can be otherwise one day, but they already tried to start a European Free Trade Area, in competition with the EU, and they still remember what humiliating failure it has been.

For them like for us, the future is in the EU, and they know it!

- Finally, remove Britain from your table if you like, and the EU will still be #1, with or without them.
And, again, this is not only for sport...

For today's EU's medals table, they contribute for ONE SINGLE silver medal...just like France!

BRUSSELS German cars, British tweed, Dutch electronics - all forcibly labeled "Made in the European Union"?

The very idea provoked tabloid outrage from London to Berlin amid fears that hard-won national marks of industrial quality would fall victim to Brussels bureaucrats bent on imposing the imprint of a European superstate.

But it is not to be, it seems. The proposal was quietly withdrawn Monday after the European Union's head office reported there was not enough interest in the idea among the 25 member nations.
