Eurosceptic MPs attacked by business leaders
By mikgof Mon May 20, 2013 07:11 AM
Too little too late. We could have shaped the EU to our liking, but preferred to snipe from the sidelines, wrap ourselves in the flag and call it patriotism. As it is we'll leave within a decade and we're going to have to cultivate the emerging economies just to keep our economy where it is today.

Virgin Airways orders Petty Officer to get out of uniform before boarding so not to offend Muslims
By TexanForever Mon Mar 11, 2013 11:15 PM
Colonel Richard Kemp, who led British forces in Afghanistan, said: ‘This is an insult to the Royal Navy and to the British armed forces who the Queen’s uniform represents. ‘This naval engineer has volunteered to serve and to fight for her country. How dare Virgin Atlantic and G4S treat her like dirt?’
... Tory MP Patrick Mercer, a former infantry officer, said: ‘Our soldiers, sailors and airmen risk their lives so that firms like Virgin Atlantic can operate and make money. ‘It is nothing short of disgraceful that they don’t receive the proper respect due to their uniform.’

Let loose the robots of war!
By mikgof Mon Feb 25, 2013 03:32 AM
I just wish that Science fiction would stop getting it right all the time. Robots are the ideal soldiers. Never tire; never have moral qualms. And they're ideal for a police state. No question about firing on their own people. Robots don't care about the Magna carta, a bill of rights or any human rights whatsoever.

UK: Aaron, 9, ‘bullied to death for being white’ . Family blames Asian yobs for suicide
By MadRusski Sun Feb 24, 2013 10:32 AM
THE devastated family of a nine-year-old boy who hanged himself say he took his life after racist taunts by Asian bullies.
Aaron Dugmore — thought to be one of Britain’s youngest suicides after bullying — was found in his bedroom after months of jibes at school, they claim.
His family say that Aaron was threatened with a plastic KNIFE by one Asian pupil — who warned him: “Next time it will be a real one.”

When the wind blows wind turbines just suck
By iciparis Sun Feb 03, 2013 12:34 PM
Not one but two wind turbines take a tumble in the UK in the space of a week. Despite what people who know how useless these bloody machines are, the Beeb of course tells us all is well and that they are safe. It really is time to put a stop to buying this useless Danish, German and Chinese rubbish and get serious about energy policy.

David Cameron speech: UK and the EU. In or Out!
By mikgof Wed Jan 23, 2013 12:54 AM
For once Milliband is correct. Cameron talking about renegotiation is a sign of weakness. The only realistic change of status for Britain in the EU, is further integration or we leave the EU entirely. It's not in our interests to be semi detached from the EU for another 40 years.

Why IS Britain about to pay £110billion to enter a new Dark Age? A damning indictment of the new 'Gr
By TexanForever Sun Jan 06, 2013 11:12 PM
the UK’s production of CO2 fell by 15 per cent between 1990 and 2005, achieved by exporting British industries to countries such as China where two new power stations fuelled by coal – by far the dirtiest type – come on stream each week. ... This means the emissions caused by UK economic activity actually rose by 19 per cent. ... but not to worry because CO2 isn't a pollutant and is good for crops and their production of oxygen. The UK's only loss was in industrial production and salaries.

"The Common Market" - 40 years of British political lying and deception
By iciparis Mon Dec 31, 2012 09:04 PM
Monumental deceit: How our politicians have lied and lied about the true purpose of the European behemoth. Enough is enough - no more false cast iron promises of referendums from putty-faced Cameron, Blair and the rest. Forget the 'renegotiation' bullshit - it can't happen. Invoking Article 50 of TEU is the only credible way forward that willget us out this shabby racket.
